During the above health camp we have found 26 HBsAg (+ve) cases. Six of them have deranged liver enzyme and are under treatment and the rest are under continual observation.

We are grateful to Prof. Sampath Kumar and the team of doctors from AIIMS New Delhi who operated on two cardiac cases, supported by LHF.

International News

Mr. Renato Pulcini from Italy has promised to sponsor a dental clinic in our hospital. And we have submitted a budget estimate to him.

Childrens Hope Foundation, of which Mrs Sema Kumar is the Chairperson will provide the necessary equipment for a childrens’ ward costing approx. Rs. 2,77,000 (₤ 3,462).

Thank you Livia and Nyima from Italy who brought an Ultra-sound machine from Italy to Delhi.

Thank you Gigi and Lili for continous support!

*We feel that a Conference Hall at our hospital is essential partly due to the climate and partly due to the lack of such facilities. Therefore we have decided to ask Mr. Andre Alexander, a famous architect to design the three story building of Tibetan Heritage Fund. The hall will be used to give health education seminars with all the necessary facilities and will also be a source of income as it can be rented out.

Rheumatic heart disease 143 total, congenital heart disease 93 total Due to health education numbers of rheumatic heart disease have been reduced. Exit programme, government taken over distribution of Benzathine penicillin, syringes and distilled water for primary prevention of acute rheumatic fever and secondary prophylaxis of rheumatic heart disease. We are extremely pleased by the outcome of this project and the acceptance of the programme by the government.
