On 14th August 2009, H. H. The Dalai Lama was requested to visit our hospital for the inauguration of our hospital. A detailed report of activities and expenditures was presented by the President of LHF. His Holiness appreciated our activities and advised us to keep up the tempo to render compassionate services to our patients. We the members of LHF and many other experienced doctors from the Government Hospital gathered to receive the blessing and sermon of His Holiness. His Holiness especially discussed diseases related to high altitude as well as rheumatic heart diseases with senior doctors. His Holiness was informed by the physician specialist that rheumatic heart disease has almost been eradicated due to timely prophylactic measures. A society of sixteen friends and women’s group of Spituk village put in great effort while making preparations for HH The Dalai Lama’s visit to this Hospital.
We have been carrying out outdoor clinic, day care facilities and diagnostic procedures for the last two years. The number of patients visiting our Hospital is increasingly reflecting the confidence of our population in the services rendered by us
